I am placing Wealthy Affiliate (WA) under the best passive income investments because it has paid off dividends for me and has led to my subsequent discoveries of other income generating streams. Through WA, I have learned so much and in a very short period, about how to generate income online and the necessary skills to be successful. The knowledge gained from the training and resources on WA has helped me better understand passive income strategies that work.
Another reason I include WA in the best passive income investments is because of the community of users it has. I am an absolute believer in the idea “you are, who you surround yourself with” and the active community members of Wealthy Affiliate are the people you want to surround yourself with if you want to create multiple streams of passive income. To give you an idea, they have over 1.4 million members.
Every active member within the WA community, is trying to build their own source of passive income and they understand that there are 4.5 billion people online, hence, there is no need for any of us to compete. In fact, everyone recognizes that helping one and other is the fastest way to improve our chances of successfully creating passive income streams.
How I Came Across Wealthy Affiliate
I came across Wealthy Affiliate while researching online passive income strategies and ideas that allow you to work from anywhere. That’s how I ended up on Grace’s (aka LittleMama on WA) website, which in turn led me to wealthyaffiliate.com. I was interested because Grace discussed how she makes $40,000 USD as a stay at home mum by following the strategies on WA. However, it took her 2 years to get to this point, and in her first year, she made no money at all.
So this is a strategy that requires your investment in the form of time and effort to get it going and it was a long term strategy. An investment and strategy that I wholeheartedly believe in. Thus, I used her affiliate link and signed up for the free trial period on WA.
As I did with Grace’s affiliate link to get my start on Wealthy Affiliate, you can use my affiliate link to join for free and subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan if you find it useful. By the way, you don’t need a subscription to stay on as a member.
What is Wealthy Affiliate?
WA is an online platform, that teaches and provides the necessary resources, to make money online via affiliate marketing. Be it directly through their affiliate program, Amazon, eBay or any other affiliate program you choose, their training and community will help you achieve your goal of making money online (provided that you dedicate time and follow through).
Their lessons are so thorough and detailed, that you don’t need any website design experience to get started and be successful. They literally hold your hands and teach you everything from scratch. One thing you need to know before starting on Wealthy Affiliate is that it will take time to build and generate traffic to your website naturally. So you won’t be able to quit your day job anytime soon.
My Mindset When I Registered and My First Impressions
I went in with an open mind because I read through Grace’s post and it appealed to my belief that to build a proper source of income, I must invest my time and effort to be successful. I figured since it aligns with what I believe in, it’s free to register and do the introductory lessons, I’d give it a try. If I learn something great, if not another one I can cross off my list.
When I registered and logged in, the first thing I noticed was a countdown timer. The timer showed that I had 6 days 23 hours and 59 minutes to qualify for the first month at $19 USD for premium membership. Which kind of put me at ease… I didn’t have to rush to get this membership price. After, clicking around and familiarizing myself with the site, I got the impression that it was very active and the people were genuinely trying to create passive income streams for themselves. It was pretty cool to read members posting how much money their websites were generating for them and other members encouraging them on and providing suggestions to improve their strategy.
The website was very easy to navigate and not confusing at all. After about 20 minutes of playing around with the site, I moved on to the training. The very first lesson was to get me familiarized with Wealthy Affiliate. Followed by understanding how to make money with affiliate marketing. With the introductions done, the lesson quickly moved on to discuss how to find a niche and the importance of it. With the foundation in place, the training moved on to building and setting up my very own website and getting it ready for search engine optimization (SEO). Followed by a quick run through on finding keywords, that actually help you get on the first page of Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines. Yes! You read that correctly, on the first page of these search engines.
This is where the free training ended. I was impressed with the thoroughness of the training and how quickly I was able to get my site set up and running. I still didn’t sign up for premium and my time to get the $19 USD promo ran out. When I logged in the next day, I saw they had extended the $19 USD for a limited time. I was happy to see this and I signed up for my premium account.
Why I Went Premium
To be honest I really liked the training and I quickly came to realize that the program was genuine and so were the members. I also wanted to move on to the next set of training and $19 USD offer was something I was willing to pay to learn and make my life easier. If I didn’t find it useful, I’d just cancel the membership after one month. I also really liked the community of active members.
For the first time, I found a community that was trying to do the same thing I was trying to do – build a legitimate source of passive income generating machine. On top of that, they were all helping each other stay on track and achieve their goals. Even the founders, Kyle and Carson were replying to posts personally and chiming in, which was pretty cool to see.
One other benefit of going premium was I got access to Jaaxy, a keyword research tool that allows you to find keywords that will get you on the first page of any search engine. Wealthy Affiliate also provided training on how to use this tool. I’d have had to pay extra for Jaaxy, had I decided to venture out on my own and figure things out.
My Progress So Far
So far with Wealthy Affiliate, I have created a website (the one you are currently on) that helps me generate passive income by catering to a niche that I am genuinely passionate about. This makes it fun to build my website since it comes naturally to me – I am sharing my knowledge and experience with others.
I have learned how to create posts that get traffic naturally through keywords. Strategies such as engagement with users via comments, that provide added values to users visiting my site. Finding and utilizing affiliate and adverting programs such as Amazon Affiliates and Google AdSense that generates additional income. How to optimize my site, so it loads fast and makes it easy for users to navigate.
You probably can tell, I really love the engagement with the WA community, as they help keep me motivated and give me tips and strategies to make it easier to achieve my goals.
If you are interested, I highly recommend giving Wealthy Affiliate a try and deciding for yourself if it’s for you or not. If you are sceptical, I am certain once you register and spend a week going through the training and interacting with the members, you will overcome your scepticism.
As always if you have any questions and/or want to know more, leave me a comment below and I will get back to you.
